My Job Is to Help You Learn to Meditate and Live a Better Life

Through Meditation for Lawyers®, you will gain clarity, focus, and well-being in both your work and life. Memorizing techniques you don’t fully understand is a superficial and ineffective method that fails to bring you to the heart of what meditation offers. I’m here to help you grasp the concepts behind the practice and come to see why this is such a transformative activity. My extensive background as a trial and appellate lawyer, mindfulness student, and meditation instructor allow me to deliver this information in the most efficient way possible.

I have been featured, quoted, and interviewed in:

The Work of a Lawyer With the Mind of a Meditator

Mindfulness and law have been intertwined for me ever since I was a student.  When I became a national expert in “right-to-die” cases—removal or refusal of unwanted medical treatment—and committed to the advocacy of patient choice, my dedication to such complex and controversial work took its toll. Then came my eight-year saga as the lead attorney in the Terri Schiavo case, bringing incredibly taxing stressors and challenges. As the pressures mounted, the relationship between my work and my practice became essential.

My meditation deepened and became a more effective tool to help me deal with stress and exhaustion, also bringing greater peace and balance into my life.

As I explored the nuances of the practice, my attention became more focused and my mind more grounded and stable. Realizing the immense value of meditation, I started traveling around the world to study with masters, attend retreats, and strengthen my understanding.

Through the wisdom teachings I was immersed in, I began to see more and more the connection between what happened inside the courtroom and in my daily life. At some point, I even felt the necessity to put it all in a book, “Litigation as Spiritual Practice.”

My work as a lawyer and my contribution as a meditation and yoga instructor have allowed me to give national and international lectures, write articles, appear on major networks, and give interviews for outlets in places like Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Brazil, and Argentina, among others.
